Wow! We're cousins!

Too many people dwell on the (hotly debated) history of Thanksgiving rather than enjoying its present day importance as a gathering together with family and community to connect and share the blessing of a meal. A good day to put aside old grievances.

If you love your family and they love you, put politics aside for one day and enjoy the time you have together. Life is too short to let others who think they rule the day & continue to divide. Give thanks. One day at a time because we never know if today is our last day.

Fella, I always wondered about you. I have been on Substack for awhile. I feel like I first noticed Justin Hart (you) right when you first put stuff up and it was very amateur stuff but I followed you and in seemingly no time at all you come up with this genius Substack!

Not sure whether Doty's in my husband's family tree, but he has 16 Mayflower ancestors. Probably knew each other anyway.

My wife is a descendant of Doty too!

Thank you Justin for this most interesting piece of American history and family history. I always enjoy reading everything you write. I go way back to the first days of COVID reading Rational Ground. Thanks for everything you do.

I go way back there with him as well, Tom.
