Will a Youngkin win be a referendum on the pandemic?

Can the defeat of a pro-lockdown, pro-mask, pro-mandate, anti-parent acolyte preface the defeat of these policies?

I bought a house in Loudoun county in 1998. For the next ten years it would be the fastest growing county in the country and still remains the wealthiest county in the U.S. I was there for 15 years. My oldest daughter went to Stone Bridge (where the attack occurred) but back then it was pretty much an idyllic suburban dreamland.

When Trump won in 2016 all of the Obama-ites moved to the suburbs or left government service to settle, retire or make Loudoun their new home. The blue Dems in Fairfax bled to the west. It was quite the scene. They took over almost ALL of the government positions and kicked out a very moderate Republican Congresswoman.

Now, 5 years later, the tentative nature of electoral politics becomes clear — things change and then change back. The public will eventually hold you responsible for your mistakes.

Now the question is: will this win inspire our health overlords to cool their heels on the pandemic mandates? Particularly those policies which have to do with our children?

One thing is for sure… it’s going to inspire a HUGE number of people to bravely make it to the podium in front of their county and school boards!

The election married all school issues to COVID-19 policy attitudes and that’s a very good thing.
