I do have to point out that Dr. Joseph Ladapo (DeSantis' Surgeon Gen.) is pushing back publicly against mask mandates.

Abbott in Texas has publicly assured us there will be no mask mandates here.

It feels like we are living in 2 worlds. How are people not talking about this at dinner? How do I not hear this in the grocery store? I get keep calm and carry on, but this is let’s pretend our government isn’t evil

This article is spot on. It’s like living in two worlds right now. The real one and the fake one where everyone is pretending and virtue signalling and convincing teenagers they are trans and men competing against women. And don’t say anything about any of it or you will be censored and banned and called a racist conspiracy theorist. Like wtf. It’s the dystopian nightmare George Orwell predicted. This election is a turning point for America and the world and I hope it turns the right way.

Anyone want to speculate why Tucker did not confront Trump about his Covid management? I'm still thinking, but here are several thoughts.

(1) Tucker wants to keep interviewing Trump. Once one dares to challenge Trump, they lose access.

(2) Tucker is not the change agent many of us believed.

(3) Trump had conditions for being interviewed, one of which was no Covid questions. Tucker agreed cause he wanted to run the interview against FOX's debate.

Ideas?

I think any/all three suggestions are accurate. However, I think Tucker held the winning hand not Trump. Sure wished Tucker had at least called Trump’s bluff.

Susan G's avatar

Me too. Disappointed. I didn't listen to the whole thing because I don't want to hear his recitation of his grievances.

So disappointed in interview...3 makes sense to me

In 2016 Trump would not agree to any interview that would question him on any of his 7 bankruptcies? Would tarnish the image of the greatest businessman ever to live? Tucker must of been promised a job in his White House if he just tossed softballs. I understand many are referring to Tucker as Tucker Hannity.

Susan G's avatar

I truly don't think Tucker wants a job in the White House. But I am disappointed. Tucker Hannity is pretty funny. Not a career model Tucker should follow.

#1 is sort of a subset of #3...both most likely influences.

Let's hope not #2 or that he's sold his soul.

At least though, it was marginally more entertaining than the debate.

Glenda's avatar

#3 seems quite feasible to me.

There might be another reason. Tucker needs financing for a potential media company and sold his soul. He wouldn’t be the first to do that but I hoped for better from him.

Susan G's avatar

Hope this is not the reason. I, too, hope for better from Tucker.

Susan G's avatar

Who repeatedly tells us he is a Democrat, thus foreclosing a third party run.

Keep the faith. The election is a long way off.

I just received a fund raising text from “Tucker Carlson” re Trump indictment. I guess that’s your answer.

Susan G's avatar

And a very disappointing one. Are you sure it is really from Tucker, or just Trump using the name.

Daniel Helkenn's avatar

It’s probably from one of Trumps fund raisers but I’m guessing they wouldn’t invoke Tucker’s name without him at least knowing about it. I’ve heard he’s got partners for a media company startup. Maybe now we know who they are. Time will tell. I hate to see Tucker turn into just another “Seb Gorka”.

Susan G's avatar

If he has partners for a start-up, good, as long as we know who they are. Sure don't want to watch Tucker on TNN (T for Trump, not Tucker). I never thought Tucker to be a big Trumpster, unlike Hannity. All will become clear, and the sooner the better.

Was somewhat dissatisfied with Tucker and Trump. Thought there would be more substance more thought provoking questions. Tucker clearly has them because he has verbalize them in the past.

Surprised and disappointed too. Instead all softball questions
