But he would be required to tell the whole truth, or he could be charged with perjury in any of these criminal trials.

This may be a blessing in disguise. Without the pardon, the incoming administration would be under great presure to pursue what would be perceived as a futile political prosecution of a widely admired public figure. With Fauci off the hook, no one should object to a full criminal investigation into the origin of covid. This is what the country needs.
